Why FV Matters

In the UK women make up 51 per cent of the population. However, they are only 29 per cent of MPs, 25 per cent of judges and 24 per cent of FTSE 100 directors. This means that in politics, the law and in business, women’s voices are not getting heard.

Working women earn just 81p for every £1 a man earns. At the current rate it will be 70 years before that gap eventually closes.

In recent years, there has been a focus on increasing the number of women in leadership positions and on company boards. FV is different. We support women in the early stages of their careers.  We believe that unless young women get the advice, support and training that they need to flourish in the first ten years of their careers, they will not remain in their chosen careers long enough to take a seat at the table.

FV is a space for young women to network, to grow and to learn to lead.
